Dr. Ting is a native Nevadan having grown up in Verdi, Nevada. He attended the University of Nevada, Reno and graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1993. He was also a Team Captain and an Academic All American on the 1983 Big Sky Championship Football Team. After graduating from UNR, Dr. Ting attended Colorado State University graduating third in his class, with his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 1988. He returned to Northern Nevada and began working in general small animal practice. In 1992, he was given the opportunity to work in emergency medicine and accepted a position at Animal Emergency Center where he found his passion working in critical care and emergency veterinary medicine.
Dr. Ting is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care Society. He has continued to advance his education while in practice and his special areas of interest include ultrasonography, endoscopy, and fluid therapy for the critical patient. Dr. Ting has a passion for Evidence Based Medicine and as the Medical Director of AESC places a strong emphasis that every patient receives the best possible care based on those principles.
Dr. Ting is married to his wife of 25 years, has three grown children, and a menagerie of 4 horses, 4 dogs, 4 cats and 15 chickens to keep him busy. In his spare time, Dr. Ting enjoys hiking, photography, competitive shooting, and welding.
