Farrah Monibi, DVM. MS, PhD

Dr. Monibi is a Reno native. She attended the University of Nevada-Reno for her undergraduate education, followed by veterinary school at Colorado State University. After veterinary school, Dr. Monibi completed a small animal rotating internship at the Animal Medical Center in New York. Dr. Monibi then went on to complete fellowship training in small animal surgery and emergency-critical care before completing a PhD in Pathobiology from the University of Missouri-Columbia, a master’s in Clinical and Translational Investigation from Cornell University, and a post-doctoral research fellowship at the Hospital for Special Surgery. Dr. Monibi is strong advocate for patient care and her clinical interests include comparative medicine, trauma, and peri-operative critical care. Dr. Monibi’s research focus is on in clinical and pre-clinical studies with collaborators in veterinary and human medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Monibi volunteers with Be the Change Volunteers, a development aid non-profit organization dedicated to creating better education opportunities worldwide.
